Use of monies raised by the fund
In keeping with the Fund's Mission Statement, monies raised by the Fund have been allocated to families and individuals to provide quality education, family relocation, home security, medical and dental services. The peace of mind this generates for current beneficiaries and serving members of the SAS is paramount for the continued well-being of the nation’s most valued force.
The Fund acts on behalf of the Australian public to supplement existing support measures and provide peace of mind to members serving in the Australian Special Air Service Regiment. Apart from the positive effect on Fund beneficiaries many serving SAS soldiers and their families now undertake their duties in the knowledge that the risks are high and, should anything happen, they will be looked after.
The children of the deceased or disabled SAS soldier are looked after by the Fund up until, other than in exceptional circumstances, the age of 25 years . This helps to cover education costs should the young beneficiary wish to undertake tertiary studies.
For the disabled soldier, he is looked after for the term of his natural life
