"We live in an era of ever changing regional and global uncertainty. The security of our nation is paramount, and the Special Air Service Regiment is at the forefront of ensuring this. Despite advancements in military technology, it is very hard to envisage a future where there will not be a need to place selected and highly skilled personnel into the very extremes of “harm’s way”. Such a need impacts significantly on individuals and families.
The SAS Resources Fund is charged with the remit of assisting serving and former members and their families in dealing with the very real consequences arising from service with the Regiment. The Fund views its role in terms of providing both responsive and pre-emptive support. It must be there to respond to the immediate and long-term needs arising from tragedy or hardship. It must also be there to commit to initiatives that contribute to preventing hard times from arising in the first place. The Fund provides such assistance with a focus on objectivity, flexibility and very importantly, genuine compassion.
In supporting the Fund, our donors are giving back to a very worthy group of Australians.”
Dr Grant Walsh CSM, SAS Resources Fund, Chairman
“Every time our soldiers step forward into the breach, they do so confident in the knowledge that should they fall in the service of this country, the Fund has their back, and will continue to take care of that which is most precious to them.”
Commanding Officer, SAS Regiment 2015-2016
